By submitting this application, you acknowledge the following requirements. Applications that do not meet these guidelines or are incomplete will not be processed.

1. All pets in your home (dogs & cats) must be spayed/neutered according to age and breed, unless medically exempt.

2. All pets (past and present) must be historically up-to-date on core vaccinations (rabies and parvo/distemper for dogs; rabies and FVRCP for cats) and—if a dog—kept on continuous heartworm prevention (requires yearly testing). 

3. Your veterinarian must have permission to release your pet’s records to Stella’s Rescue.

4. Please respond to any email, text, or phone call from our team within 24 hours or your application may be closed. Check your spam/junk folder regularly.

5. The adoption/foster process is not immediate—it may take a week or longer before initial contact, especially for popular dogs with many applicants.

6. You must be able to travel to the foster home to pick up your adopted dog. Exceptions may be made for senior or special-needs dogs.

7. Adopters are not chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are reviewed for the best match for each animal.

8. $200 Adoption Fee (once approved): Offsets the some of the costs of veterinary care, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and ongoing care prior to adoption.
